Name: CongressionalDistrict

Display Field: FromDate

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPolyline

Description: The Idaho Transportation Department's (ITD) Roads and Highways Road Network Linear Referencing System (LRS) congressional district feature class is a linear representation of the congressional districts polygon layer. This layer is used within external applications that summarize data based on congressional district boundaries but cannot utilized a polygon geometry, therefore utilize the linear features. Congressional districts are the 435 geographic areas in the U.S. that each elect one member to the House of Representatives, with boundaries drawn by states after each Census to ensure roughly equal population, though their shape and number vary by state, with populous states having more districts than less populous ones, with Idaho having only two.
